Pamela Fishman Cianci grew up in rural coastal Massachusetts and attended high school in Providence, Rhode Island. Pamela received her B.A. in English with a minor in Theatre from the University of Vermont (1995) as well as her Masters in Administrative Education along with a Secondary Education Teaching Credential, also from UVM (1996). Pamela's studies exposed her to creative thinking and business early on -- and continue to be an asset today.
During her five years in Vermont, Pamela also worked in several food and beverage related roles: busser, food-runner, server, manager and event coordinator. Notable establishments such as New England Culinary Institute's Inn at Essex, Sweetwater's, Bove's and Nectar's were Pamela's initiation into the "F & B Industry." Her three non-consecutive summers as a Nanny and Chef for a family of five in Cambridge, Massachusetts, served as a perfect arena to hone her cooking skills and experiment creatively with food. Pamela cooked and baked for the family, and during this time, she came to realize her talents in the kitchen.
Pamela moved to North Lake Tahoe in the fall of 1996 with her then boyfriend Darrin Cianci. She worked as an Administrative Manager and Program Director for Alpen Group Travel, in Olympic Valley, California. She organized the selling, communicating and planning of student travel, while managing the day-to-day operations of the office including scheduling, revenue forecasting and accounts receivable and payable. She also assisted with many catering companies to further develop her food and beverage skills.
After two amazing years in Lake Tahoe, Pamela (and Darrin) moved to San Francisco, Pamela was very lucky to come upon an opportunity with a company that shared her passion for food, wine, service, hospitality and the northern California region. Pamela also served as a Business Liaison and Financial Manager to Gavin Newsom, founder of PlumpJack, who soon became City Supervisor and then Mayor of San Francisco. As PlumpJack Group Director of Marketing and Events, Pamela oversaw the marketing initiatives for the twelve PlumpJack Group businesses, including but not limited to: collateral material, public relations, email and print newsletters, retail store merchandising, alliance partnerships, philanthropic efforts inclusive of the Group's annual golf tournament, and the promotion of regular programs in place such as wine classes and wine maker dinners.
After more than five years, Pamela left the PlumpJack Group to pursue her own dreams including Sugar & Spike, dedicated to her late great grandmother, Nana Bert, an amazing baker and lover of the good life.
Currently, Pamela owns and runs Outlined Productions specializing in events, weddings and marketing consulting. Her philanthropic efforts are felt citywide as she can be found helping and attending countless fundraisers and she is a Board Member for Hamilton Family Center.
